In a positive development for Bhojpuri as a whole, the most popular Bhojpuri website Bhojpuria.com has offered wholehearted praise to the first website in Bhojpuri Anjoria.com. For a very long period the owners of these websites were aloof from each other, each avoiding the mention of the other.
This development augurs well for the Bhojpuri development as an unneccessary undercurrent of competetion has been removed for good. Though it is yet to be seen how deep this mutual understanding is going to develop. Both are commited to Bhojpuri and there were no major differences between them. All that differs is the natural difference of perception which is a welcome thing.
Let us hope this new found awareness and recognition of each other does good to Bhojpuri.
Jai Bhojpuri!

The first website in Bhojpuri Anjoria.com is celebrating its seventh anniversary after completing seven eventful years in the service of Bhojpuri language. It has passed through many ups and down during this period.

Started in 2002 it required downloading of a Devnagri font before it could be browsed. Then it turned to .pdf format which again required that the visitor has a pdf reader on her computer. Finally with the arrival of utf fonts it turned universal with no requirement of any particular font on the visitor’s computer.
For a long long time it used basic html designing with no possibility of interaction with its readers. Finally this year it adopted the WordPress system and now it is interactive which is shown in the regular exchanges among readers. In many a ways it is a social site now though a tough moderation by the editor prevents easy comment on its pages. But then that is required to prevent spammers.
Let us wish Anjoria a many happy returns of the day and a more popular existence.

13th July 2010 will prove lucky for 24 contestants for Sur Sangram-2 while unlucky for 66! This is because a total of 90 contestants have been choosen from the first round of auditions held in 13 cities of India. Nearly 15 thousands contestants took part in these auditions. Some were so hopeless that the judges had to take analgesics. There were also a big number of otherwise physically challanged youth who compelled the judges to empathise with them.

A big variety of traditional folk Bhojpuri songs were presented at these auditions and it was a great pleasure to hear these from the younger generation. This was also the real strength of the 1st season of Sur-Sangram which made these Bhojpuri TV shows popular among the families across the nation and abroad too. Though there were some slips too when singers like Guddu Rangila were presented on this show. Some singers are known to pollute the Bhojpuri music industry with their vulgar and double meaning songs. Hope this season does not slip again!
There were two teams of judges to select worthy singers from the first round of auditions. One included musician Satish Upadhyay, senior executive producer of Mahuaa TV Urmika Roy, and Sujit Mishra of Sai Baba telefilms. The second team icluded musician Ajay Jaysawal and Nagendra Dubey of Sai Baba Telefilms. The winners of the 1st season Mohan Rathor and Alok Kumar alongwith other participants encouraged the new contestants at these auditions. A total of 90 contestants were selected at these auditions for the second and final audition going to be held in Mumbai on 13th July.
The judges for this final round of audition include musicians Satish and Ajay, singers Manoj Tiwari, Kalpana, and Malini Awasthi along with Ashok Kumar, director of the show, Pankaj Tiwari and Urmila Ray of Mahuaa TV. A total of 24 contestants will be selected at this audition who will participate in the second season of Sur Sangram representing the teams of Bihar and U.P.
