Bhojpuri Anjoria

A call attention motion has been listed for discussion in the LokSabha tomorrow, Monday 30th August 2010.

It has been lodged by Hon’ble MPs Sanjay Nirupam, Dr.Raghuvansh Pd.Singh, and Jagadambika Pal and has been listed in the agenda for tomorrow. This call attention motion calls for the inclusion of Bhojpuri and Rajasthani languages in the 8th Schedule of Indian constitution.

Bhojpuri is the second largest language of India which is spoken by Indians. Its centre of influence is ABCD, Ara, Ballia, Chapra, and Deoria but also includes Western Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh or Purvanchal as it is popularly called, Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, Palamau and adjoining areas of Jharkhand, Tarai region of Nepal. Bhojpurias are spread almost all over the world.

Prabhunath Rai, national President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj has said that more than 50 MPs belonging to all major political parties are going to support this motiona. He has also hoping that with this sincere efforts Bhojpuri will get its legitimate dues within a year or two.

Kalpana says, I am more for the voiceless girl who is deeply entrenched in a male dominated feudalistic society where she has nothing else to fall back on.

Whether deserted or divorced -the life of a hapless girl in such a claustrophobic society becomes a hellish and endless journey. She bears the stigma of ‘being married but not married’. 

It is a story where everyone involved, pay a heavy price for the ugly patriarchal power play…it’s a society rotting while the country surges ahead to be a global power.

Antardwand is a film that strokes the sensitive, thinking viewer’s ire.

I am so happy for the moments and proud to be part of a film with a social issue which peeps into the reality that is mofussil India, a feudal India refusing to die.

Groom abduction or “Pakrauah Shaddi” is so rampant in Bihar & Eastern UP and is touched upon in Antardwand. The film is very realistic, well made film, and more ever it’s a true story, which makes it more interesting….It brings to light that these unfortunate incidents still happen in India…True stories truly inspires me more than anything else. The true story in the film should be highlighted”…This film is getting big thumbs up from the A plus film fraternity in Bollywood.

When her other film ‘Saanncha’ was selected for The Cannes Film Festival, it added one more feather to her cap and proved a sort of milestone in her artistic career.

In one of her recent interviews Kalpana has confessed herself in these words, “In the beginning of my career as a playback singer, I had been lending my voice to all type of songs for films and albums, but I had an appetite for art films. This is a must listen song.With time, my maturity also went on increasing, along with my ambition for singing for movies which has a message of social cause.

Says Kalpana, these films has burning social problems of the society.

It is for the first time that any publication has published the President’s complete address to the nation in Bhojpuri and this has been done by the pioneer Bhojpuri website. To make the matter more applausable this has been done within hours of her speech.

As a tradition President of India addresses the nation on the evening of 14th August every year and Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil did it this year too. Her address to the nation is a vital document which expresses the governments point of view. To present this speech in toto is a remarkable service for Bhojpuri too. If the Bhojpuri speaking people want to achieve constitutional recognition for Bhojpuri more such efforts are demanded. Someone should translate the Constitution of India in Bhojpuri, try to build an official vocabulary for administrative and official use.
