A call attention motion has been listed for discussion in the LokSabha tomorrow, Monday 30th August 2010.

It has been lodged by Hon’ble MPs Sanjay Nirupam, Dr.Raghuvansh Pd.Singh, and Jagadambika Pal and has been listed in the agenda for tomorrow. This call attention motion calls for the inclusion of Bhojpuri and Rajasthani languages in the 8th Schedule of Indian constitution.

Bhojpuri is the second largest language of India which is spoken by Indians. Its centre of influence is ABCD, Ara, Ballia, Chapra, and Deoria but also includes Western Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh or Purvanchal as it is popularly called, Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, Palamau and adjoining areas of Jharkhand, Tarai region of Nepal. Bhojpurias are spread almost all over the world.

Prabhunath Rai, national President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj has said that more than 50 MPs belonging to all major political parties are going to support this motiona. He has also hoping that with this sincere efforts Bhojpuri will get its legitimate dues within a year or two.

It is for the first time that any publication has published the President’s complete address to the nation in Bhojpuri and this has been done by the pioneer Bhojpuri website. To make the matter more applausable this has been done within hours of her speech.

As a tradition President of India addresses the nation on the evening of 14th August every year and Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil did it this year too. Her address to the nation is a vital document which expresses the governments point of view. To present this speech in toto is a remarkable service for Bhojpuri too. If the Bhojpuri speaking people want to achieve constitutional recognition for Bhojpuri more such efforts are demanded. Someone should translate the Constitution of India in Bhojpuri, try to build an official vocabulary for administrative and official use.

Anjoria.com, the First Bhojpuri Website, has always been in the forefront of popularising Bhojpuri. It was the first to present a website in Bhojpuri, first to present a Bhojpuri Grammar, and now trying to build up a Bhhojpuri-English-Bhojpuri dictionary. You can read lots of Bhojpuri proverbs at Anjoria.com. Its presentation of news in Bhojpuri is remarkable too. As it is the only website to present news in Bhojpuri on almost daily basis.

The first website in Bhojpuri Anjoria.com is celebrating its seventh anniversary after completing seven eventful years in the service of Bhojpuri language. It has passed through many ups and down during this period.

Started in 2002 it required downloading of a Devnagri font before it could be browsed. Then it turned to .pdf format which again required that the visitor has a pdf reader on her computer. Finally with the arrival of utf fonts it turned universal with no requirement of any particular font on the visitor’s computer.

For a long long time it used basic html designing with no possibility of interaction with its readers. Finally this year it adopted the WordPress system and now it is interactive which is shown in the regular exchanges among readers. In many a ways it is a social site now though a tough moderation by the editor prevents easy comment on its pages. But then that is required to prevent spammers.

Let us wish Anjoria a many happy returns of the day and a more popular existence.
