The popular musical reality show Sur-Sangram on Mahuaa TV is going to make waves again in its second season of Sur-Sangram-2. This show is going to have four stalwarts of Bhojpuri music and film industry at one place. Manoj Tiwari will anchor the show as he did for the large part of its earlier run and so will be Malini Awasthi and Kalpana sitting at the judges chairs. The most important difference this time is going to be the presence of Super Star Ravi Kishan who will be judging the participants for their overall personality, presentation, style and so on.

These four stalwarts will help choose the twelve participants each representing UP and Bihar. And from those two dozen participants will emerge the new star of Bhojpuri singing winning the 1st position in the show.

Sur-Sangram-2 is going to be telecast from 6th Aug on every Fridays and Saturdays from 8 PM onwards. It is expected that this time again the show will reach the pinnacle of popularity.

(Based on inputs from Prashant-Nishant, the PRO of Mahuaa TV)

13th July 2010 will prove lucky for 24 contestants for Sur Sangram-2 while unlucky for 66! This is because a total of 90 contestants have been choosen from the first round of auditions held in 13 cities of India. Nearly 15 thousands contestants took part in these auditions. Some were so hopeless that the judges had to take analgesics. There were also a big number of otherwise physically challanged youth who compelled the judges to empathise with them.

A big variety of traditional folk Bhojpuri songs were presented at these auditions and it was a great pleasure to hear these from the younger generation. This was also the real strength of the 1st season of Sur-Sangram which made these Bhojpuri TV shows popular among the families across the nation and abroad too. Though there were some slips too when singers like Guddu Rangila were presented on this show. Some singers are known to pollute the Bhojpuri music industry with their vulgar and double meaning songs. Hope this season does not slip again!

There were two teams of judges to select worthy singers from the first round of auditions. One included musician Satish Upadhyay, senior executive producer of Mahuaa TV Urmika Roy, and Sujit Mishra of Sai Baba telefilms. The second team icluded musician Ajay Jaysawal and Nagendra Dubey of Sai Baba Telefilms. The winners of the 1st season Mohan Rathor and Alok Kumar alongwith other participants encouraged the new contestants at these auditions. A total of 90 contestants were selected at these auditions for the second and final audition going to be held in Mumbai on 13th July.

The judges for this final round of audition include musicians Satish and Ajay, singers Manoj Tiwari, Kalpana, and Malini Awasthi along with Ashok Kumar, director of the show, Pankaj Tiwari and Urmila Ray of Mahuaa TV. A total of 24 contestants will be selected at this audition who will participate in the second season of Sur Sangram representing the teams of Bihar and U.P.
